Modern Vespa

I'm thinking about buying a 2008 150 LXV. From the ad it looks like it's in great shape. My concern is it has about 7000 miles on it. I've purchased several Vespas in the past, but never with this many miles on them. Need advise, is 7000 miles considered low, medium, or just getting broken in? I'm sure to ask for service records, but not everybody including myself saves their receipts for everything.

at 7K unless you've got service records, expect to do a full comprehensive service straight away along with some tires.

keep in mind that the LXV controls are specific only the model, along with the headlight and windscreen, so make sure all of that is in good nick. otherwise it's a MINT to replace any of it.

Well, that is an average of less than 500 miles per year which is light use in anybody's book. That is both good news and bad news. Certainly does not suggest a lot of mechanical wear, but it also does not suggest a lot of use and possibly not a lot of attention to service. Scooters like to be ridden. The question is how much this one has suffered by not being ridden, and the degree to which it was regularly serviced despite such low mileage.
