I have a 2023 Vespa GTS 300 Supertech with the matching top case. I have always been worried about being scene while driving especially from behind with the taillight low and under the top case. I discovered a new product I just purchased called a Brake Free light you can attach to your helmet. I just received it today and love how it works and how it attaches to the helmet. I am a customer of this product and not affiliated or paid by them. But it's great to make drivers who are always so distracted anymore see you better at stop sign and traffic lights. It's a very bright LED light. It has sensors built in so as soon as it senses you slowing down or stopping it flashes to make the person behind you aware. Its light weight and works great. I attached pictures below. The product is on the Brake Free website and sells for $149 on sale I found a coupon code that gave an additional $10 off. It's worth it for the extra safety it provides. It's worth checking out here is the website. https://www.brakefreetech.com/

I have a push bike light that senses braking and changes its flash pattern accordingly. It's overly sensitive and pretty useless for that feature. I'd imagine a helmet bobbing around would be worse.

I have seen many of those for a peddle bike they are inexpensive and likely don't have the same technology as this one with more expensive sensors in it. I have tried this one moving the helmet while the light was one and it seems to work very well. For motorcycle users who downshift to stop more so than brake until the end this works to notify a person behind them, they are dramatically slowing down. I will test it more in spring and let you know.

I agree. I looked if it would work on the top box but it's to curved to fit the bracket that hold its in place. Would be nice if they made it to fit the Top box.

There is a hardwired options for LED lights that you can mount directly under a top box but the wiring looks complicated. Here is the link to that light.

Dooglas wrote: Well, yes. But isn't the point of the device that you posted that it senses slowing even when the brakes aren't used, i.e. senses reduced velocity. These other light bars are basically brake lights / turn signals mounted on a top case. ⚠️ Last edited by Jeffsvisor on UTC; edited 2 times

Another option, but requires some wiring:

I never liked the OEM Vespa taillight or signals. I opted for a SIP taillight with SIP running lights. It makes it brighter and visible to drivers. This pic is just on running, it gets SOOO much brighter when the brakes are engaged....
