Hi All,
here we go,
I now have a GT200 53 plate recovered from my dad, with the original Walbro carb that is no longer available. i have running issues and have stripped the carb and its a bit to be desired inside... the intraweb isn't coming up with any clear ideas for an upgrade so I thought of you lot . any ideas of the options ?

it has a PM tuning pipe and a Malossi pot and piston but not sure of the CC.

any help would be appreciated

I'm not frightened of spending money but don't want to go silly

many thanks in advance Wingnut ...

I have a GT200 and realistically the carb to get is malossi 34 with a accelerator pump the price is around $430 from scooterparts.com
In the USA, looks like you live in England you could probably find one closer to you
It's a steep price and I'm still saving for it and it appears to be the only option the GT200 also uses the keihin carb there available and pricey but for a extra $50 for the malossi It's a no brainer.

Is there a reason you don't want to clean up the carburetor and reassemble it? It's not likely to be necessary to replace it. I work on antique motorcycles and regularly rebuild carburetors that are 70+ years old. Often they've been sitting unused for 20, 30, 40 years and are pretty grungy inside. I'd bet if you cleaned it all up, it would perform just fine and you'd save hundreds of dollars.

Hi caschnd1.
i have stripped and sonic cleaned the carb and the housings came up fairly clean including all galleries washed and blown through.
i think the issue is the condition of seals etc and they are no longer available. it looks like the carb was used for a couple of years then discontinued as mine is an early one this is my problem

Thanks for your replay , Wingnut.

Hi Nitro200,
thanks for your reply,
with my first search it looks like Beedspeed in the uk do the Malossi 34 kit for about £400 i need to contact them and make sure its a direct fit for e.g. as it comes with cables etc
i have starting issues and low power so a bit annoying. I've done a fair refurb so its already had a new CDI, choke solenoid (comes off choke ok when it warms up), iridium plug, carb strip and clean, vacuum fuel tap,
this was all required as it was in storage for years

Manty thanks Wingnut.
