Hi all, I'm really struggling here and I'm hoping someone can help.
I have the following error codes from my odb2 reader when plugged into my 2007 BV250.
I've searched this forum and google for these codes. I've done my research here and learnt that our bikes use the same ecu as guzzi and aprilia. I've followed those links and been to the respective guzzi and aprilia error code pages, however these two codes above are listed nowhere!!! I feel like I'm going crazy! I've searched everywhere but can find nothing.
Am I missing some vital piece of information here? Does anyone know what these codes are and can help me in the right direction?
Thank you!

How to read error codes:

First digit:
P: Powertrain
C: Chassis
B: Body
U: User network

Second digit
0 = generic
1 = individual by manufacturer

Third digit for "P" ("Powertrain")
0, 1 and 2: Air/fuel metering control
3 : Ignition system
4 : Emissions control
5 : Engine idle control
6 : On-board computer and additional outputs
7, 8 and 9: Transmission / Transmission control
A, B and C : Hybrid drive

Last two digits:
Consecutive numbers for concrete error definition.

So P0311 is a generic error code and if Piaggio adapted error code correctly (and also your diagnostic device) it is "Cylinder 11 - Misfire detected"

P1700 is not generic / is manufacturer specific and should be a error in/with transmission

First: the are (mostly) no cylinder 11 on Piaggio/Vespa…

Maybe there a incompatibility's between Standard OBD readers and Piaggio Bikes using proprietary software and requiring specific devices for official dealers (PADS).

General:
What is the reason for reading error codes? Do you have any technical Problems?
Is error code gone / coming up again after disconnecting battery for 15-30min?

This is brilliant info. Thank you! I was wondering where the standard codes ended and proprietary codes began.

The bike runs well except when the throttle is barely open, so it's throttle position related. At that point the bike wants to stall. Open the throttle past that point and it works fine. This happens when the engine is hot or cold. The bike is low km, has new spark plug, I stripped and checked the cap, had fresh oil, filter, air filter, new injector.
If you clear the codes they come back after the bike is run.

a quick search through various vespa workshop manuals gives the following. Doubt it's helpful but might give a clue as to the parts of the bike that are giving your codes.

P03xx

P0301 Misfire - signal not plausible
Engine revolution sensor P0335 - open circuit
Engine revolution sensor P0336 - inconsistent signal
H.V. Coil P0351 - shorted to positive / open circuit or short-circuit to negative
H.V. Coil P0352 - shorted to positive / open circuit or short-circuit to negative

P17xx

P1761 Electric tilting sensor SC to Vbatt X Check wiring of tipover sensor and check with a different sensor.
P1762 Electric tilting sensor SC to Gnd X In case of short circuit to negative
