Crying or Very sad emoticon Hello, I have a vbb 150 that starts up and ticks over but when I try to put in gear, 1st or 2nd it just goes backwards and stalls because I have my hand brake on??
Any help would be great.

I remember a guy in the Johanneburg Vespa club having this, back around 1960. Turned out the Woodruff key in the crankshaft had sheared and the cam/flywheel had shifted position on the crank, throwing the timing way out.

Timing is off, making it run backwards.

Examples I've seen, the woodruff key sheered and moved the position of the flywheel.

Definitely timing my 350cc Jawa with sidecar would run backwards.
