Perhaps displaying a bit of redundancy, but I have recently embarked on a personal quest to never again be in the position where I am without adequate scooter/motorcycle jacking capability.
At the level that I will be using them, which is 'aggravated and sometimes desperate home maintenance guy', the lower priced scooter/motorcycle jacks are downright cheap, and much more than 'damn good enough' for my purposes.
I now have two types of brand new platform scissors jacks, and don't think that I have $100 into the both of them, my last year's pawnshop score of a 3000 pound hydraulic floor jack, something needed for oil and filter changes on our '16 Miata (in conjunction with four heavy duty jack stands, of course).
And then there's the humble, simple, but often useful black automotive scissors jack that's been around here for decades. A block of wood placed on it's lifting surface works wonders.
Of course, I also have my trusty old Harbor Freight MC lift table, so I'm pretty well situated for getting my toys up into places where tinkering on them is, if not actually enjoyable, something much more easily tolerated.
