hi. just joined the scoot community. got my first 50. planning to soup her up after my break-in (variator & chip) and was curious where the ecu module is located and if its a pita to access it? any info for a new DIYer is appreciated. thanks.
I'd check to see if AF1-Racing sells an OEM Piaggio service download for the 50 model. I bought my Liberty150i service download from them years ago.
You can locate your parts of interest in the manuals' many photos.
Actually - there may be few differences 'under the hood' between the two. So the 150 manual may still be helpful?
There are a lot of 50 forums out there which may be helpful.
O.S.
how do you plan to 'chip' it (I assume you mean flash/program with a different mapping or removed limiters)? Is there someone that is offering such a service? Or maybe replace it with a different brand (malossi, polloni, athena?)? Some of these ecus are by a brand called EFI (hard to google) and they have some software on their site https://efitechnology.eu/efi/?page_id=819
thank you for responding. that schematic is so helpful. im changing the ecu to a malossi for the 49cc topend. and the multivar cvt pulley. unfortunately this is not a scoot city so very limited mech resources. it looks like its located under the beak. i hear theyre pretty difficult to access...hope i havent bitten off more than i can chew. thank you again for your reply and thoughts.
