It's a 2007 GS 1200 with about 29k miles on it.
I was after my Mate's GS when he had a wobble recently but sadly he's sticking with it out now, and so I went looking for a similar bike. This one isn't mint but with a bit of TLC I'm pretty sure that I can turn it into something special. The Benelli and the Honda are going to be swapped in as much as I love the feel of the Imperiale it's achingly slow and the Honda is hard to love because it's a Honda. It does everything well, but not with any flare. I rode an earlier GS a few years back and didn't really warm to it because the RT is a better handling bike and that's what I was used to but this one is a lot better once it gets rolling. I should have it in a couple of weeks. |

Just tidy it up a bit. I'm pretty obsessive about the way I clean and maintain my bikes but this one has been a little neglected so after a few bits have been replaced and I've managed to pull it apart to clean it properly, it's going to gleam.
It has a full service history also. Like all GS's it has Continentals and I'm not too sure about those. |

Loved it, 'til one day I pulled-up at a red light, put my foot down on a puddle of oil and over it went. No bike damage just my ego- I couldn't lift it up and cars were driving round me. It took a mechanic from a workshop opposite to come and hold up traffic while he hauled it up and I could sheepishly ride off. PS: I did go back-on my scooter with a box Roses-chocolate ones. |

The only downside to this purchase is that I'm going to be put in the same group as many other GS riders that got the biggest bike and didn't ride it anywhere.
Ho hum. |

When it was a thing we'd have to meet you and sort of welcome you on board but after a while it sort of ended up in a free for all which spoilt it for everyone.
These days the Skoks are scattered to the four winds these days so I'm not sure that there are any real structures to adhere to so anyone is welcome to post here if they want. |

I've believe I've met some of your brethren. At the old Quitters meet ups in SF.
The title also reads 'New SKOK post,' so I thought this was finally a recruitment thread. |

No I think that the solidarity that we once had is slowly fragmenting.
It was great while it lasted. It's better to have loved and lost. |

Do you remember when you had a favourite band? You had all of their early releases and saw them a couple of times in small venues and on occasion met them.
Then they make it big with a single that didn't represent their work at all and soon after everybody loves them, when all they bought was the hit. This is what happened to the Skoks. It became a free for all, reached critical mass and fell apart. |

Well over here the roads came first and so we built the cars to suit.
Over there there were no buildings and so the roads came first and the cars were built to suit. So explain 150 HP V8's to me then ? |
