Hi,

I just bought a wonderfully Vespa gts 300 super from 2009 ( M45200). it is in very good condition, the only small issue is that the main front light plastic 'glass' has a little molten spot. I think it's the H4 halogen bulb that produce too much heat. I plan to put a H4 led bulb as it supposed to generate less heat. Is there a Canbus that can be disturbed by a led bulb? Do I need a ' antierror' adaptor or something else? I don't think there's too much electronic on a 2009 model, maybe the anti-thief key code system? Thank for your help, Philippe.

That melted spot could have been caused by the position of the windshield when the scooter was parked on a sunny day. Also could happen if a garment was slung over the headlight for a short time when the headlight was on. Both of these cases have been reported in the past. Nice looking bike!

Thank for this fast answer, so I will wait before unmount everything to access the bulb! I will watch carefully if this melted spot growth in the future.

You should be able to install the H4 LED without any CANBUS issues. I've done this on my Vespa and a few others in my club with no issues.

I've used both AUXITO and AUTOONE brands found on Amazon with great results.

Be sure to adjust the angle of the headlight DOWNWARDS using the single adjuster screw under the headlight. This will help to minimize dazzling oncoming traffic at night.

The other option is to replace the whole assembly with a projector lenses LED unit. This outperforms the stock bucket and LED bulb by quite a bit. Pricey, but if you ride at night at all, it's a huge improvement.

This is similar to what I have, available at Scooterwest. This is also plug n play https://www.scooterwest.com/headlight-assembly-250-300-super-641081.html

SIP also had a full LED unit available https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/headlight-unit-sip-performance-black-edition_MV641080B?usrc=led%20headlight

I have this one and the only issue I have with it is the high beam. It's aimed so high that it doesn't actually light the road. I use it during the day to be more visible, but at night, it's useless. Low beam is good though.

I did not have that same issue. You might try placing a washer on the top screws in between the back of the headlight housing and the handle bar cover. This would act as a shim and point the whole unit downward a slislight amount. I was disappointed there is no aiming function/adjustability. But the light output is fantastic.
