I have a faded anti freeze/rubber smell after riding for a while my GTS. I have looked everywhere and can't find any trace of a leak. Although I did have to add some antifreeze the other day because it was low. I just don't see anything. (South Florida)
Thanks

A puff of white 'smoke' when you first start is a good indicator of a split in the intake (uh-oh, new head required) or hopefully just a compromised head gasket.

There may be no other indication until it gets worse, when starting becomes hard. BTDTGTTS - mine was a split intake tract in the head.

I would clean the engine and then carefully inspect all hose clamp areas, thermostatic housing, bleed screw areas. I would think if getting the smell the coolant is hitting a hot part of the engine and vaporizing. Of course, if a gasket or head failure, it would be thru the exhaust system.

I did read someplace, perhaps on this forum, of cleaning the engine and after dry, dust with baby powder/talc and this will help reveal any small leaks. Never had to try that myself.

Isn't a rubber smell normal? (I hope!)
