Please guide, I have been riding for a year (2 months after getting licensed by passing driving exam) but I am always disbalanced in scooter due to my posture. What is the best posture to be in?
People say you've to keep your forearms parallel to ground, I feel like I am following it. But it's not working at all.

Personally my favourite riding position when I'm riding hard through twisties or city riding is sat as far forward as possible with feet further back than knees.

Fast road highway riding I'm sat back on the comfy part of the seat, feet forward of knees.

Like the girl in the middle but without the center stand down. I definitely would not recommend the legs crossed style of the third girl.

Seriously, though ... not that.

On a lot of scooters your posture is pretty well dictated by the shape of the seat, the handlebar position and your height. I've noticed that my posture has been different on all of my scooters because of this.

One thing I have to be careful of on the Stella, because it's a bench seat and I can sit anywhere I want, is that I'm not too hunched over. If I do, I'm lifting my head to see forward and I get headaches.

Comfort is the key.

I often feel -- after even a brief jaunt on my scoot -- that I'm sitting too straight, too rigid. Almost as though I'm sitting "at attention." Just try to remember to relax, loosen up, and enjoy the ride!

Oh, yeah...and welcome to MV. Lots of good info and good people here...and there's always time for a laugh or two!

The Vespa kind of demands up right seating. I sit slightly back. Comfort is the goal. Also, a windcreen blocking wind drag on your body is good to have.

Forward facing has got to be in the top 3.

I've seen rude comments for step-throughs in general.

Apart from the angle of your arms, the other thing to consider is where on the handlebars do you have your hands? Eg all the way in right up against the handlebars cover or right out at the ends

Scoots generally are either "bar-stool" (Vespa, etc.) or "Barca-Lounger" (Maxi-scoots and Helixes).

Straight up (back straight) on a bar-stool bike is less likely to cause back pain during extended rides than slouching over would.

Rusty J,

Barca-Lounger. Great way to discribe the foot forward riding position of Maxi-Scooters. This riding position discussion comes up occassionally. I am going to steal your Barca-Lounger description in the future.

When I go on long or extended day rides, I always take my Kymco 550 for the comfort of the riding position. I use the Vespa GTS 300 more in town and around the neighborhood.

Barca-Lounger - Super.

I test rode a bike a couple years back that I thought I had wanted for years. A Yamaha Morphous. Beautiful bike, but it was like sitting in a recliner. Super comfy and a nice bike for riding distances, but I had to call the guy when I got home and say no. Banging through the gears on the Stella as I left it made me smile so much I knew I just couldn't pull the trigger.

And now I no longer want a Morphous.

Thanks for letting me ride your bike, Dan.

Here's a nice pic for reference.

If possible, slight lean forward so there is a bit of bend in your lower back to take the shock easier rather than having it go straight up your spine/neck. Your hands should fall on the grips and keep them somewhat loose. And for me, I like my feet right as close as under my hips as possible, but that doesn't really work on a Vespa and it is intolerable on the maxis. Also, many of the Maxis put your knees higher than your hips. Too much pressure on my lower back.
