Hi folks new on here. I have a 1989 t5 which had a 172 malossi kit on it with sip2 exhaust and run like a dream. Was recommended to have a 162 pinasco kit on but scooter could hardly get over 50mph so took it back to guy that recommended kit and he added a reed valve with big carb. The scooter flys on pick up through 1st 2nd and 3rd gear but soon as I go into 4th the scooter barely gets over 50mph. Any help would be appreciated

Wrong decisions. Why would a smaller kit, designed in the 80s be better?? The old Pinasco 162 was OKish but the new one (with the cheese piston) is shit. You could have gotten more power from the Malossi if that was the caseā€¦

If fourth can't rev out fully, I'd guess the jetting is too rich for the setup.

List what cylinder, exhaust, carb model and carb main jet are installed.

I absolutely love the 172 kit in my T5. Is there any way you can get your old malossi cylinder kit back?

And it sounds like you need to sort out the jetting on the pinasco kit...as to what, i don't know.
