Modern Vespa

Guys I have the stock 2023 50cc Euro 5 4T Piaggio Zip.

I don't want to derestrict is, as I'll be selling soon and would rather keep it as it is.

But, it's SLOW! Sometimes when I get to about 20mph it seems to 'pause' and struggle to build up speed. Other times it seems ok and gets up to 30mph reasonably quickly.

Is this a common feature or is something wrong? Is there perhaps something I can do to make it accelerate just a little bit more quickly (without modifying/derestricting it)?

Cheers guys, and ideas welcome - I'm a newbie to bikes.

You can stick lighter rollers in it. But if it's restricted, that will make it quicker, but it will still stop around 30mph.

Great thanks, I'll look into this. I keep hearing about 'rollers' but to be honest I don't know which part of the engine that is! My background is in cars, which I know the basics of.
