Hi all.
Newbie here, picking up my 2022 GTS 300 supertech in a couple of weeks. I'm 49 and not ridden a bike for over 20 years, having had a vespa 50cc and a Kawasaki ER5 in the past. Looking forward to taking the vespa on a few long solo rides.

An idiots question re. MIA on the bike please. The navigation and the other Bluetooth features were a selling point for me for the supertech.

The bike is second hand so doesn't come with a headset. Just wondering if I need to buy the official vespa MIA headset in order to take advantage of the features the bike offers, or if any one would do, and if so which one do folks recommend?

Many thanks all
Gareth

I recently acquired a 2020 Supertech. The phone connection has been very good but I have not managed to get my headset to pair to the MIA system. I have a cheap Chinese Maxto M3 bluetooth/video set (actually works wonderfully well), and have no issues pairing it to my phone, but it does not get recognised by the scooter. I find the MIA system interferes with the bluetooth between my phone and headset so I disable that unless I really want to see the live dash outputs on my phone, which have proven an interesting novelty rather than a must have.

Gareth welcome and nice scoot. I have a Super Sport so dont have the full functionality you have. Re the headset, I wouldnt have thought you need a dedicated Vespa one , a generic one should work.

What I have found with my old KTM & Garmin and my headset and my phone is its critical the order you set up them up during pairing.

My Vespa paired with my phone after the headset was already paired. However the bike only control my media it doesnt " speak to me"

In the case of my KTM I paired the bike to the headset first , then the headset to the phone. With my garmin sat nav I paired my phone to the headset then to the Garmin. In the KTM case the bike acted as the " hub".

Someone with a supertech will probably come along soon with the solution. Failing that it might be worth a quick u tube search for pairing guidance

Interesting point about the pairing sequence (headset first, then phone). I must try that.

It wasn't sold with one. Any will do.

As to pairing, I personally don't pair my helmet with the bike instead I pair it with the phone. It never really made sense to pair it with the bike.

PS if you have an Android then you might want to try my app as an alternative to piaggio's shite app
