So i'm enjoying the break-in km's this week on my GTV 300.

One thing ive noticed, although this can be normal in stop & go traffic, the cooling fan is working overhours.

Today it was a friendly beginning April 23c/73f, so what about deep into hot heated august?

Any hot riders here with experience?

Have you checked the coolant level? It may be low.

Newly filled up? was it thoroughly bled of all air?

ah ...

a) was it low and needed a top up which would suggest a leak (eg loose hose clamp)

OR

b) did you drain and fill the whole system and hence bleeding is important and may need rebleeding

Neither a or b, but ill double check the bleeding.
It came new out of the garage with the cooling liquid tank filled as it should be, i saw it when i got it.
I'll check tomorrow if there is a unusual drop, just to be sure.

So i guess the cooling fan doing some work in stop & go traffic with these temperatures isn't as normal.

From my experience, a new engine, while it is adjusted correctly (break-in), always runs a little hotter than when it finishes break-in.

But, it is still not a bad idea to check if the cooling system was properly purged, since I have read some comments about Piaggios that leave the dealership without being properly purged and that air can help cause the temperature to not be correct. So if is mine scooter, I go to the dealer and ask to purge the coolant system... only to be sure all is correct.
