On well maintained engines/ Piaggio BV series I Went through the search for high milage on a BV 350 and came up w/no answers. The BV 350 is the same (basically) engine as the newer BV 400, so I though I would find out what the BV 350-400 engines are capable of as far as engine life- milage wise. Just out of curiosity. Mine will probably outlast me. But kinda like to know. I see the crank brgs are made into the cases like the GTS engines. Likely other areas would wear out first. Anyone ?
For what it's worth, my 2013 BV350 had 41,000 miles on it when I sold it. The rear wheel and hub had to be repaired because of a collision with the mother of all potholes, but I never had any trouble with the engine. I stuck pretty close to the recommended maintenance schedule.
I haven't put enough miles on my new BV400 to know yet how it's going to go.
Thanks for the reply. I'm sure I won't wear mine out. Piaggio products are very well made. I had a 2017 Vespa 300 GTS. Great machine, very serviceable and made w/ good metals and alloys. I've read good things about the BV 350, so the 400 should be right there. I use the best lubricants, filters, and products on any machine I own. I ride a little aggressive ( for an old guy), but I don't beat on it. I just need more ride time !
