Can you adjust moving the mirrors only? If not are both are sides clockwise?

No both mirrors are handed. The simple way to remember is if you push them away from the bars, that unscrews them👍. So the left hand mirror loosens clockwise , the right hand mirror loosens anti clockwise.

Guess the logic is " the wind" tightens up the mirror.

On a separate note does anyone know how to tighten up the head of the mirror eg where it connects to the stalk with what looks like a swivel joint, reason being one of mine is loose and the mirror head " droops"

Thanks in advance

No, the logic is in a head-on accident the mirror doesn't break and pierce your ribcage.

There are threads on MV about getting into the mirror head for various reasons. Basically you pry out the rubber ring holding the mirror glass in and remove the glass. It will be obvious how to tighten the joint. Reverse the process to reassemble. I've never done it. It's apparently hard to get back together.

this happened to me after using a bit of wd-40 with a quick wiggle

that method works with older gts mirrors but my mirrors on the HPE don't have this black ring. I only way I see of getting the mirror out would to be use a suction cup and pull. tried that and gave up

what I did was *neatly* put some black tape around the swivel - a few times around. works well and actually looks fine. will take a pic for you later
