Modern Vespa

This morning I tried to start my Lx125.As soon as I turned on the ignition a strange pumping sound /ticking started and smells of petrol,then a puddle underneath.I opened the carb,no problems,cleaned it,still the same,I even changed the vent hose and is still leaking a lot of fuel each time I press the ignition without even starting it.Any ideas?

Sounds like the float needle isn't closing.

So I guess back tot reopening the carb and check the floaters

it can be the case that needle or its seat or both are damaged, so it doesn't close fuel. If the fuel leaks while engine off, also the vacuum valve is not working - it doesn't shut the fuel suply when engine is off.

Today I removed the entire carb,opened it ,cleaned it,tested it,all valves are fine,spraying like it should,floater in position.It worked fine without leaking about 5 min,thrn again it started.I alsoe changed the fuel lines to make sure .All out of ideeas

I do hope that is an "in-process of cleaning" picture.

Otherwise, where are your main and pilot jets?

Float needle is probably wonky. Take it out and post a pic so we can have a look.
