Hi all, I've recently got a 1978 150 super on 8" wheels, I'm converting it to 10" but I'm not sure what forks I can use, I've heard pk forks would suit by I have no idea to be honest.... any help on this topic would be appreciated.

Phill.

You can use your Super fork, look at this thread starting at bottom of page one: Unpainting a scooter .

Yeah, keep your fork and just grab the wheel bits you'd need

Yup, easy peasy. That's the beauty of converting a Super to 10's vs. say, a VBB or the like.

Welcome, but not the nice type of welcome!

WHY OHH WHY would you do that to a Super?
WHY OHH WHY would you make an agile Lamb into an overweight piece of Mutton?

Keep the 8"
Get good tyres & suspension, then enjoy it.

Each to their own mate. I put 10s on mine to complement my somewhat crazy 221 MHR motor. I kept all the 8" bits and bobs, so it can go back to factory at any time in the future.

One thing to note: the Super mudguard does look weird with a 10" front wheel, weird enough to make me want to swap in a Sprint or Rally mudguard, or to go the whole hog and get a set of PK forks with disc and one of those PLC Corse mudguards. Not sure I can be bothered through!

Here's another vote for keeping it on 8's.

Unless you plan to add a front disk brake and tubeless tires (they still don't make tubeless rims for Supers), there isn't all that much to be gained.

The difference in handling between 8's and 10's is de minimis. In fact, some would argue 8's are more nimble. The gears on Supers are a closer ratio designed for 8 inch tires.

With a good suspension, some tuning and an extra clutch tooth, 65mph is very achievable. And one of the best scooter tires out there is the 8" M-rated Heidenau K75.

Supers were their own bike. They're not Rallys or Sprints. The 8's are part of the appeal.

My dos pesos.

100%

Plus, if ya keep it 8's, you could potentially be added to to the coolest international scooter gang on the planet. The 60/8's.

I know, I know, and if it had it's original VBC motor in (which I do have), it would definitely be back on 8s. I have fond memories of taking my daughter to school on the 8" Super, more than 15 years ago, but in recent years I had an itch to scratch.........powerful motor in sedate looking 1976 Vespa. The 200 case was already reed and had damage to the swing arm. Enter the wide wheel conversion (actually an 11" x 3.00 rear), which meant cutting back the swing arm and losing the damage in the process. Keeping an 8" on the front would have been rather comical
