When I removed the battery from my BV400 the clock and miles/km odometer settings were lost. The owners manual has instructions for setting the clock, but nothing about the odometer settings. How can I reset the display?

Ah, I may have the answer to my own question. I was using the Mode button on the handlebar. There's another Mode button on the dash that I didn't try.

I have a BV 400, but mines new-so no help. I did put small jumpers on when I installed battery tender leads to the battery. No lost power that way. To be honest I haven't read everything about the speedo features. Everything else- yes, speedo features, no. Dealer set everything prior to me picking it up.

Confirmed. You have to hold the dash Mode button while turning the ignition switch On. Then press the Set button to switch to Miles. I still haven't found a way to change temperature from C to F. Maybe there isn't a way.

Yes -there is a way to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Right after you do the switch over from kn to miles, then press mode again and it goes to the temp ( flashing) then change that. There is a u-tube showing how.
