06 GTS 250ie 14k miles, limited use lately. For no apparent reason, started running like crap, would not keep an idle w/o stalling, would not accelerate and go. Replaced the 3yo flooded cell battery and voila, happy as a clam. (even on a full charge, the old battery would not do the job).

Whomever designed the battery system on these era wasps, well, lets just say not ideal.

I mention all this so you don't do what I did years ago and assume it was a fuel pump and replace all that at nontrivial expense only to find that it was a $80 battery. Now I know, replace the battery and see if it just works.

YMMV but hope this helps someone.

The wet cell battery on mine did 4 years of regular use from new then I got another scoot as an everyday runner and I think that killed it - they don't seem to like sitting.

Did a engine swap on my 250 to a 300 and it was down for a few months, got it all together and it wouldn't idle. Put a new battery in it and problem solved.

My advice now is always to replace with a LiFePO4 (LFP) battery, as these are now a similar price but far better performance and longevity. Plus they hold their charge far, far longer, having almost zero self-discharge.

You might want to check your voltage regulator. They are known for causing a lot of battery problems on the 250 and early300.
