I had to share these videos here. We live very close to the centerline of the path of the total eclipse yesterday and had 4 minutes of totality. I shot 3 videos, two of them time lapse during totality. The third is the reaction of our eclipse party participants at my house.

I have seen many natural events in my lifetime. Autumn colors, northern lights, hurricanes, giant icebergs near the north pole, glaciers... but all of them were eclipsed by this one. See what I did there? Laughing emoticon

Anyway, things I noticed:
Temp dropped 8 degrees and wind picked up.
Just before and after totality there were little crescents all over the deck and shadows got really crisp.
My chickens did not go to roost but were hunkered down in the run and being quiet.
A Canadian goose flew over honking like crazy like it was running away from something.
The entire horizon glowed like before sunrise.

This first one shows our reactions. Make sure your sound is on.
These are the time lapse videos that account for 21 minutes of actual time.

Impressive!

We had an opportunity to watch a full eclipse 34 years ago over here.

As I was 34 years younger, even more carefree than nowadays and never been a morning person...and the eclipse took place inconveniently during early morning hours... I decided to sleep instead

My girlfriend at the time reported it was cool.
I even borrowed her some welding glasses to watch the event with, so I was not totally ignorant.

In middle Tennessee, we were supposed to get about 94% of totality. But we had cloud cover that mostly obscured. I got one photo of the partial - the clouds actually helped filter it so that a simple iPhone snap worked.

Western PA, handheld LUMIX FZ-35 camera (several years old), 60x optical zoom. Top two were shot through a $1 Amazon eclipse glasses lens taped over the lens, bottom shot with no filter.

Thick cloud cover miraculously dissipated into partial cloudiness as the eclipse began, and there were plenty of breaks as it progressed.
