A 1970 Super 150. I am putting back together an abandoned project and the problems are never ending. I believe this hole should not be filled in correct?

Yep, the machine screw that holds the switch cover goes in there. Need to drill it out and retap.

Getting a steel screw out of aluminum..that'll be fun. not.

Any chance you can weld up the hole after you get the screw out for easier re-tapping?

that spot doesn't carry much weight or stress only holds the cover for your switches, maybe just drill it out and place a helicoil with some added JB weld.

It's pretty tight in there but any chance you could dremmel a small slot in the screw and back it out with a screwdriver?
