Hello all. I just recently found an abandoned 2006 LX150 a few houses down from mine. A group of people got kicked out of a rental house and left many items on the curb to be disposed of. The Vespa being one of them. I looked up the VIN number and saw that it has not been reported stolen or having any bank leans against it. The Vespa is not in good condition and is a none runner. The first thing I did was put a new battery in it but nothing comes on at all. I notice a group of wires near the battery that have been cut. I think it may be where the main fuse was located. Wondering if I need to get a completely new wiring harness.

I'm sure it is going to be a long process to getting this thing running again. Hope to read any suggestions from the knowledgeable crowed in the forums.

I'm sure that people will help. Open her up and show some photos of what you're dealing with to get things started.

First, get a title for it. It would be a shame to put time and money into it and then find you can't keep or register it. Perhaps the owners of the rental house can give you a statement that the scooter had been abandoned.

From what you say about its condition it may not be worth putting anything into it.

Thanks for the manual link. I'm sure I will be needing a lot of parts. By the way, anyone know the best place for parts?

I like scooterpartsco.com. There is also scooterwest..com and they have a YouTube channel that has lots of vids on repairing scooters

Agree with JKJ - talk to someone at your local DMV to see if you can obtain a title. There is no reason to put all the time and money into it if you don't have a possibility to own it. Other than that, it looks like a good project. It should clean up fine and it looks like the engine has not been monkeyed with.

Welcome to MV. If you're mechanically capable, and are passionate to get it running at any cost, have a go! We're here to support and encourage.

OTOH, if money or skills are an issue, it has the potential to be a big PITA, so there's that. Nerd emoticon
