No need for all the cloak and dagger nonsense, it takes seconds to find out which dealer is advertising the 310 specs.

Based on the specs and Robot's video it sounds like a decent upgrade. More torque, lower RPM's, slight increase in HP. I'll take it. Though I probably won't sell my 21 to upgrade anytime soon (assuming it even arrives in NA soon. Robot speculates it could be late 2025 or early 2026).

I was hoping it was coming early 2025 in NA. I want to buy a new Supertech. I am also hoping for some new colors for the Supertech and not all of them matte finish.

love how people are taking robot's rambling speculations as proven fact.

I'm still bugged that even though the gts310 (18.4kw) has *less power* than the mp3 310 (19.4kw) it is claimed by many that it will have more torque. hard to believe that - I'm still waiting for offical specs.

Exactly! At least they got rid off the hideous chrome on the switches. They should have also blacked out the CVT cover but that's easy to DIY...

All technical data is already known and published. The first vehicles are already in the showrooms of dealers in Europe.

Torque is an actual output of the engine. HP is a calculation of torque divided by rpm and multiplied by 5252.

(I.e. "torque wins races, horsepower sells cars")

So if the redline is lower, even with additional torque it could still have lower hp.

I dunno....maybe five more solid little Italian 'ponies' under the hood, a corresponding boost in torque, and I might be interested in a 310, but it seems that all the hoopla over such a minor increase in displacement and performance wouldn't justify the expense of buying a new machine.

I DO understand that any displacement increase is probably just to meet more stringent emissions regs, and not so much for 'better' road performance.

Indeed.

But there are still no official photos of the 310cc from Piaggio. There is not even any official information/photos of the 125cc E5+ from Piaggio and it has been at the dealers for 3 weeks. That's just wretched.

I'm toying with giving up my 2023 triumph street triple R 765 for a 310cc Vespa. Just want to slow down and revert to my youth. I had a Lambretta LI 150 in 1977.
Has anyone else gone from sporty motorcycles to a 300 Vespa and regretted it?

I went from an 1100 Guzzi sport to an lx150. No real regrets. But life had changed so I wasn't carving twisties or randomly disappearing on road trips all the time.

I'm doing the same. Just sold my old Kawasaki Zephyr that I've had since 2008. Not got my Vespa yet as I'm waiting for the new 310. I used to have a Vespa 125 over 30 years ago but around 6 months ago I got a little Honda Vision 110cc for my wife - I've used it a few times and really enjoyed it for nipping around on short trips, it beats the Zephyr for storage (helmet and a few groceries) plus it's so lightweight it's dead easy to move around. I found it's just missing a bit of top end and enough power to overtake, so I'm hopeful that the Vespa 300 will do the job - plus I love the look of them!

My Buddy traded in his 2022 Honda CB1000R for a BNIB 2024 300GTS Super after taking my s150 for a quick ride (3 days later ).
He has no regrets and couldn't be happier with his "retirement wheels".
I have no short-term plans on getting rid of my 2013 VROD NRS....but I have to admit my s150 has been a hoot buzzing around in the city.

I am going on record that you'll never be able to capture that je ne sais quoi of your youth with a new Vespa 310. The Vespa will run reliably, which means all the serendipity of having your Lambretta break down at the most awkward possible moment will be missing from the experience.

I gave up my Triumph Street Triple R but only for a Triumph Tiger. The Street Triple was my favourite bike I ever owned.

How about buying the Vespa GTS 310 on credit and pay back monthly for a couple of years? you get to have both then.

Only observation I would make is storage. Unless you have a very small open face helmet you will be disappointed with the storage capacity on the new Vespas. The underseat storage is ok , as long as you accept everything you put in there will get warm.

As mentioned in this thread life moves on as does age et al. I.e. change is a certainty.
Where I live I find lightweight scooters more riding fun that sports motorbikes.
For me ´sporty´ performance is as much about nimble as it is about power, more even.
Find two op in the mountains here a challenge for the 125 Primavera but have chosen to go tuning instead of moving up the model range.

I wouldn't give up my motorcycles (I keep at least two in the garage) but I will say that my Vespa GTS gets the most use out of all of them! Laughing emoticon

Yep, you are right - was hoping that the new 310 would have a deeper under seat storage but apparently not. Anyway, yes I will mostly use an open face that I know fits the current GTS, plus I'm putting a box on the back.

I think the 310 storage could be potentially smaller as A the motor is slighty larger eg bore / stroke and B if Piaggio fit any emissions vapour gubbins in the engine bay, that will reduce the underseat storage. A top box is a good solution, its what I use on my F700gs.

I would agree with the comments above. If you can afford / finance both I would retain both. Then you will have an " as well as" instead of a " instead of". Twelve months on, reflect on what you are riding and enjoying then make a disposal decision.

I keep my motorcycle for longer runs and two up riding. My 300gts is certainly not as relaxed and enjoyable in those two modes.

I introduced a Vespa into the general population of our standing herd of bikes rather than make any sort of either/or decisions. I like motorcycles big and small, and probably always will, but the Vespa definitely fills a unique niche (itch?) that I cannot fill with a conventional bike, and I appreciate the many contrasts it represents versus our motorcycles.

I've had 40+ motorcycles in my 40+ years of riding. They have ranged from big to small, fast to slow. I'm currently down to two, a 2020 Vespa GTS300 and a Kawasaki KLX300 dualsport. They currently fit my lifestyle. The Vespa is a daily commuter and the Kawasaki goes along on weekend camping trips for exploring back roads.

I miss having a bigger bike for longer distance riding. Retirement is about 18 months away. If I can find room in the garage I will probably add a larger bike when I retire and have more time to use it.

Part code is different to the previous model (310 is 1B012047) but I think the differences will be minimal. Let's just hope the new cylinder won't consume oil once again (Chinese made, parts catalogue says Fujian Hua)…

That's why I wrote that I'll have more details tomorrow…
The SKU of the helmet compartment on the 310 has changed, so far there is a verbal statement that the helmet compartment inserts are (visually) identical. Tomorrow I can compare.

The width, length and depth of the helmet compartment are identical, but the shape in the middle section of the base has changed slightly. Here is a picture:
