Modern Vespa

Not gonna lie I'm pretty excited about Land of 10,000 scoots rally this summer! My plan is to camp in my van at one of the state parks and ride into town to join the fun. I did this for the first time a couple weeks ago at SXSW in Austin and had an absolute blast. I got the 600 lb capacity rack from Harbor Freight. Slight overkill for my 330 pound bike but it's less rickety than the cheaper aluminum one they have and was easy to load and unload. The campground I'm looking at is Chain of Lakes Rice Creek. If any Minnesotans have other suggestions or tips I love to hear them. It seems like reserving the spot now is probably a good idea. Anyway looking forward to meeting some of yall in person and exploring Minneapolis on the bike. I've only been there for a long weekend and had a blast. All that water!!

Another campground in the area is Lebanon Hills in Apple Valley, on the south side of the Cities. The venues for the rally haven't been determined yet but Apple Valley would be about the same distance away as Lino Lakes, depending on where the events start. Capt. Gary stayed at Lebanon Hills a few years ago, and said it was good. I don't know anything about the Chain of Lakes campground, never been there. There aren't any state parks with camping nearby. Welcome to the Twin Cities!

Thanks I'll check out Lebanon Hills. It 'd be great to find something on the south side as that's where I'll be coming from and the trip is plenty long without going further north than necesssary!
