My problem started with the scoot intermittently refusing to start. After much #$@#-ing around, I've identified the brake light switch(es) as the problem. When I jump the terminals on either of the switch connectors, brake light comes on and bike starts ok. But it seems weird that both switches would fail at the same time. In any event, now I need to fix or replace one or both switches, but they are different designs and I can't see any screws or anything to remove them. Help!!

there is only one type of switch for a 250 and replace both otherwise the brakelights don't work when pulling the handle with the broken switch

They never break at the same time - you only noticed they both were broken when the last one failed. This is normally the rear brake switch, as your right hand is being used for the starter button, but habits vary.

It's only in places where annual safety inspections are carried out that folk notice that only one brake light switch has failed.

So always replace them all.
