I have got an LX50 and I need to change the spark plug but the only problem is I do not have the tool which is normally underneath the seat. Where would I go about to buying one as I know every spark plug is different with the sizing of the nut. Its a NGK BR9Es spark plug which is the original from my knowledge.
Can you really use that on an LX50? No other Piaggio bike I've ever owned would allow enough room to remove a spark plug using that tool, unless you took the engine out...
If you buy a spark plug socket on Amazon, try to find the one with the smallest outside diameter possible. That's what causes problems with Vespas. You may still want to grind it down so it's a bit shorter, like the one in the toolkit. I've got one somewhere that is from Taiwan and was designed specifically for motorcycles and scooters. I thought about selling them, but they're about $30.
If you can get the spark plug wrench that comes in the Vespa toolkit, for me, that was always the easiest one to use on a Vespa.
