Welcome to MV! I truly hope you have taken an MSF course. If you are new to riding, this is a must. The classes round around $350 or so which would be cheaper than any damage caused by a drop.

What a lovely scoot, good choice of accessories.
I agree with others that if you're new to riding, a MSF Basic Riders Course will be immensely helpful. Try this site for classes near you... https://uride.us/ |

A very tasty scoot!
Howdy and welcome to MV. Great folks here with good advice...like this: Take an MSF riding course, but don't be like me...I dropped my brand-new scoot DURING the class! (Bless his heart...he passed me anyhoo...) 🤓 |

Thanks everyone. I'm taking the motorcycle safety riding class with Uride this weekend. I have the permit so I can ride it home from the local shop, the gentleman there is putting on the accessories for me. It's a short drive.

Welcome to the forum!! There is so much great information on this site. I echo anyone that is telling you to take the MSF course. I took one between the time I purchased my first vespa 22 years ago and the day I picked it up. I am actually about to take another one as a refresher. I am two years and 10,000 miles into my second VESPA. Be careful and have tons of fun.

Welcome. Nice looking Vespa. A world of adventure awaits you.
Inaddition to the good advise already provided, remember, rookies take curves to fast. Also, change lanes as little as possible and do not trust any car at intersections - stare them down until you know they won't pull out. New scooter, never rode before. It is like making love for the first time. Bob Copeland Frostbite Falls Minnesota |

Man, +1 to everything Bob Copeland said! I still don't trust ANY car on the road...and I've been riding off-and-on for 56 years!
And yeah, be careful w/speed on curves. Sometimes we ALL take 'em too fast! Ride it like you stole it...but always keep your wits about you! |

That is a fine looking scoot! Congrats! You take care of her, and she WILL take care of you.
You're down in Orange County? Noticed the Cali plate and frame. I'm out in Desert Hot Springs, just north of the 10, across from Palm Springs. Enjoy yer scoot! 🤓🛵 |

Good, but do not expect too much of it. It will not make you an expert driver in a day. So take your time to get to know your scooter. |

I remember the break in period for my first scoot, a Chinese 150. It said not to exceed 30mph for x number of miles.
I can still remember 30mph feeling like light speed and being disoriented when I got home. It was a great feeling, and we all acclimate. Great looking bike. I hope you enjoy it, and be careful out there.

So this just happened. lol.
Of course, I will need more riding experience before I can take Luna on my Vespa with me. Got the pooch pod from the website below . The owner lives in Santa Barbara. He's in Orange County for an event, he brought the pod down and installed it for me. Super nice guy. https://poochpod.com ![]() ![]()
