Hello, I want to check the placement of my variable SIP VAPE SPORT ignition, installed with a DR177 cylinder and 60 crankshaft. The block is a Motovespa 150CL with the crankcase adapted to be able to install this ignition.

The DR manual indicates 19ยบ, is this correct for this ignition?

I'm looking for reliability for long routes, not maximum power. The mechanic who made the complete engine has already caused me enough problems, and I want to check that the vape is correct or correct it if necessary.

Greetings from Spain.

I recall the DR being 18 BTDC, but if you're looking at the manual, I'd trust that more than my memory. Razz emoticon

What's going to be more significant is, since it's a variable timing sytem, at what RPM's you set it to 18 BTDC. With a DR, that's going to be at about 6,000 RPM's (Peak power RPM's).

Even with a static CDI, you'd want to set the timing at 4,000 RPM's.
