My maiden run with a rebuilt gearbox went well...until nearly home, the GT 200 suddenly started dropping revs until it got to tickover speed.
I gave her a little rest and restarted her. Started fine, idled perfectly, but as I increased the revs to a bit over idle, she died on me again.
Have checked the air lines with the carb spray check, and they seem alright so looking at the carb. Have taken it apart and it is indeed very dirty with a yellowish gum over a lot of the inside.
Question about my slide though..this seems to have a matt-ish coating with in places shiny metal showing through.
Can anyone confirm the coating is gum rather than a coating that should be there but has worn through?
