i noticed some fluids and the smell of gas under my vespa et2 after i parked it...put some brown paper bags and they were completely dry...i took the vespa on a sixteen mile round trip with no issues...parked it and placed the brown paper bags under it again...returned to the vespa two days later and there was noticeable fluids and the the smell of gas on the bags...whats the likely problem...is it an easy fix...if i cant get it fixed right away will it do more damage or will i just be wasting gas when i ride it...thanks

It's most likely coming from the fuel line. If it's still on the original one, it's over 20 years old and will be disintegrating by now. Fuel line is cheap and easy to replace. Check that first.

If the fuel line is OK you could have a leaking carb (possibly the float bowl seal), another cheap and easy fix.
Failing that your petcock (fuel tap sticking out the bottom of the fuel tank) could be leaking. However this should be obvious as it would be dripping onto the exhaust and you would see it.
These are also cheap and easy to replace but you will need to drain the tank or have some way of catching the fuel when you remove it.

clean everything off and spray it with baby powder or foot powder spray, whichever is cheaper at dollar tree. You will see where the gas is coming out right away.
