Modern Vespa

A quick web search didn't come up with any that were very active.
I've had enough Ps apart to at least not make the same mistakes time after time on rotary large frames, but the 20 minutes I spent opening and closing the fuel tap and choke on the Serveta thinking those were panel release levers was a little embarrassing.
Now I know about clip on panels.

I strongly recommend LCUSA membership and using their forum - it was super helpful to me as I struggled to get my Serveta to cooperate and run. But you can't see the goods without being a member.

Funny thing...I think I'm an LCUSA member, but not in good standing. A guy who used to work for me was a Lammy guy and he did it as a joke.

I got him back a few months later when VCOA had a 2-for-1 membership deal. That was close to ten years ago and he told me a few weeks ago he's STILL getting VCOA emails.

That's because they don't much chance to get on the forums as they are always in the garage mending them.

like most things lambretta, it costs money.
Get a Stickys manual for sure. You won't regret it.

I'm not so sure how active the LCUSA forum is, most people are on facebook now. I'd join a few FB groups and see which ones are active.

For most simple things you could use some of LCUSA's sub-forums. if memory serves, you could buy and sell, etc. but some tech help required additional membership.

I was able to scrub older forums, scoot BBS https://www.scooterbbs.com/ to find info on an li190 that I had bought, reading through the previous owner's posts, that kind of thing. That's what people did in early 2000s. Before that i think they used carrier pigeons.

I'm into Lam conversions, which is a level deeper so I scrubbed the series six forums at one point for people that were shoehorning typhoon forks into lambretta frames in Surrey and Essex or wherever.

I took a look at the LCUSA fora last week and the most recent post was from February. They're dead, Jim.

Speaking of shoehorning and expensive, I've seen the RDLC/RZ 350 powered scoots. I do have a Banshee sitting around. I imagine the lack of YPVS and its current tuning would make for an interesting ride.

You've got the roads for it. On the east coast, there's a guy from Pittsburgh that did a couple RD350 Yambretta conversions. Beasts, apparently.

Make sure you torque everything down though, he messed his leg up wrecking after not torqueing down the steering column on one of them.

ah... the BBS... where half of what little information you got was wrong, and the other half was your mom insults and some nice old school gate keeping.

before that it was the Norrie Kerr book and carrier pigeon, semaphores, a guy who was a friend of a friend that was into VW's now but had a malossi 210 back in the day.

Kieran (former lcusa prez and all around great guy) says that you would be surprised that the Lcusa forum still gets replies but yeah it's quiet. Or try over on their FB.
