hi,

I need to change the cylinder and exhaust of my motovespa 200 ds.

After performing compression test the result is around 110 psi. I think the result is a bit low.

The compression ratio in the vehicle manual is 10.5:1

I have doubts between 2 thermal kits:

1) Bgm 200 original 200 CC 12 CV

https://www.bgm-tuning.com/es/product/9020017-zylinder-bgm-original-200-ccm-12ps-vespa-px200-rally200-ccm/

2) cylinder serie pro 200

https://www.sip-scootershop.com/es/product/cilindro-serie-pro-200-cc_41470700

Which of the 2 thermal kits works best?

Which one would give me better performance?

The next idea would be to replace the exhaust and 2 options

1) Bgm pro big box touring

https://www.bgm-tuning.com/es/product/bgm1011tr-auspuff-bgm-pro-bigbox-touring-bbt-vespa-px200-rally200/

or

2) sip road 3.0 exhaust

https://www.sip-scootershop.com/es/product/escape-racing-sip-road-30_24165900?usrc=Sip%20road%203.0

What is the best exhaust /cylinder combination discussed?

suggestions are accepted

Thanks!!

Hola compatriota.

Check your cylinder first, make sure that the cylinder wall is not damaged, grooved. Tighten the cylinder head. 110 psi is not terrible but you could try new rings too. As far is the exhaust, knowing the strict regulations there I would recommend something like an exhaust box.

Perform a "wet test" and then compare the before and after compressions. Perhaps just a hone and rings are all what's needed?

Hi,

I wouldn't bother going for original 200 again...
when you have the option, I would recomend going for a bit more ooooomph...

I've tried various kit, but for my daily commuter I have this Malossi 210 Sport;
https://www.scooter-center.com/en/cylinder-malossi-210-cc-sport-mk2-2021-vespa-p200-rally200-with-cylinder-head-m3118591?number=M3118591

Very easy plug'n play with just a minor upjet needed.

And to complete it, you fit the Polini Box;
https://www.scooter-center.com/en/exhaust-polini-original-road-box-vespa-p200-p2002022?number=P2002022

That combo along with original (upjeted main) carb and crank and gearbox is a winner!

Good luck!

Yeah, agree, that's a nice and easy combo to get you going... if you have to split the cases, you may as well drop in a 60mm crank but just bolt the 210 on and go.. with jetting and timing adjusted of course!!
