Hey boys and Girls Ladies and Gentlemen,

so I have scratched the net and not certain what search words to ask so I have not found anything as yet.

I have a 1957 VN2T Vespa that I am trying to get back onto the road and got to a point that I am now stuck. I notice that there is a Brake light switch but the harness does not have any cables to or from the switch or tail light.

I have also found taht the tail light has space for the extra bulb. my questions

1. was the brake light connection only an optional addition?
2. if any of you have connected the switch to the tail light please can you share the routing you used to run cables from supply to switch to tail light. Was thinking would have to run up the back of the motor but would really appreciate some other ideas or images please

thank you in advance

Brake switch came standard on certain models of 1955-1957 wide body. A dedicated coil on the stator delivered AC to the switch. Diagram would look like this: stator coil-brake switch-brake light. power was never delivered from the switch on the handlebar; no need to over complicate. Do you have the correct stator?

Thank you for the quick response

No the stator I have is a Vespatronic for Faro Basso.

So I was thinking of taking power from regulator to switch to light but only if the routing of the line would be simple and not untidy over the motor thats kind of the reason I was asking for other persons installs to see what it looked like

A conversion harness will have the wiring for it and plug & play.
