Yep. It happened in Scottsdale, Arizona today some time between 9:15AM and 11:30AM near McDonald Road and Granite Reef.

I just dumped about $600 and a few weeks into it to get it up and running with help from some of you here, and now it's gone.

The seat is now covered with a Navy Blue Cheeky Seat cover. It's missing its kick start, has a small slice in the left side mirror boot for a charging cable, and has some scratches and dings on the right side of the body behind the seat.

Not sure if I'll ever see it again, but it's worth a try. The attached photo was from the day I bought it years ago, so it's not quite as worn in, and the seat hadn't been baked off yet. It has just a bit more than 8000 miles on it.

The stupid thing is that I just dumped money and time into it so I could sell it...so while I'm not heartbroken (I have a daughter now, so I don't ride two-wheel), it's still a violation of my personal belongings, and I will prosecute if I'm fortunate enough for that to happen. It's just not big enough of a loss for it to hurt financially...but it SURE PISSES ME OFF. I need better camera coverage on my property.

Do you have any neighbors that you're friendly with that might have a camera that covers your general area? Perhaps they picked up an idling vehicle or activity in front of or near your place during the time window of the theft.

Maybe also let local shops know. Who knows if the idiot thief turns up looking for help with fixing a steering lock or keys.

Also stashing an AirTag in the scooter is a good idea.

Sadly, since it wasn't being driven and wasn't registered, it also wasn't insured. Even if it was, between a deductible and a "no claims" discount, filing a claim for something worth only about $1500 would be a wash after increased premiums over 3 years.

It's the experience lost that can't be replaced. These things are so much fun to ride...

If it was taken from your house, you may have a chance of reclaiming the loss thru your home owner's insurance. This happened to me many moons ago and even though I did not get full value back after my deductible, it help soften the blow some. I'm sorry this happened to you, I thought Scottsdale was a fairly safe area. But I guess all it takes is one A-whole to screw you over no matter where you live.
