I have installed a new ring and piston in my Vespa PX-150 Scooter. I want to know that after installing these things how may I drive the scooter to complete its running?
Some people say after installing new Rings and pistons you have to burn at least 4 or 5 tanks of petroil. The description is as below.

1- Full the tank at approx 6.5Liter, add 250ml of any good quality engine oil into the fuel tank and just start the scooter in ideal form the whole day till all fuel burns (fuel tank may empty).

2- Full the tank again with petrol and add 250ml engine oil into the tank. Drive the scooter up to a maximum of 20 km/h speed. Finish the fuel tank with this speed.

3-Again fill the tank add 250ml engine oil into the fuel tank and increase the speed up to 20 or 35 Km/h. Drive the scooter at this speed till the fuel tank is finished.

4- Again fill the tank with petrol and add 250 ml engine oil into the fuel tank. Now increase the speed up to a max of 35 to 50 Km/h. Drive the scooter at this speed till the fuel tank is finished.

After completing this cycle you are in a position to sit someone in the back seat of your scooter. This will mature the rings and piston for any drive.

I want to know if is it the right practice for completing the running of a scooter (Vespa PX-150) with new rings and piston.

Thanks

Your case halves are from different sources which is less than optimal. The fly side is number 193 the clutch side is 44x and different shape transfer ports. Maybe it works I had a very bad experience with one I had so it's worth mentioning.

Just ride it carefully and not WOT, up to 3/4 throttle is ok. Two tanks is enough.
