So I'm looking at buying a three port 8" engine to build for my VBB.
How much is a complete engine worth?

How much is a complete engine worth? so you'd be looking at sprint, etc and P125/150 as well as LML and converting them. with engines, condition is everything. the more complete the more dinero. figure something rebuildable is probably 300~500 pretty easy and it just goes up from there. |

I had a 74 that I was able to add a shallow third port to. there was plenty of metal still left, but I did not to break thru and have to resort to filling and recutting.

My 76 VBC has a 3 port case but came with a two port cylinder.
I am running a Pinasco 177 3 port cylinder kit. |

Couple of old cases that came with my VBB
VBB1T case (left) and VBC case. Both 2 port. The VBC case has 2 pins for the rear brake shoes. The inlet has has the factory keyhole cut on the inlet. VBB case does not. I think it was the original engine. ![]() |

VBC2 had 3 ports, and probably something like an Indo P150S would have had a mysterious motor.
Dunno what it's worth. Otherwise you could use a VBC1 & add a bitta-phat then grind in a 3rd port. |

Well I'm now in possession of a complete Super engine and fork for $140. Plus the $100 in gas and six hours in the car. Photos forthcoming once things are cleaner
