Hi, I am asking this question for a friend.

He owns a 2016 Beverly 350 with ABS and need to change the rear brake hose (broken). After that it was a blessing to be able to bleed the air from the brakes, we tried everything we could think of, but nothing worked, we even thought it was necessary to connect a scanner to do it through the ECU, but for that year the scanner indicated it doesn't have that function (it does have it for my 2021 MP3, for a Beverly 2018 too, etc.), could it be that for that year there is a special process to do the bleed?

I have checked the forum but I can't find anything exact and that's why I ask directly.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The workshop manual (from page 288 onwards) suggests at one point "If necessary, bleeding can be done using a special vacuum pump" and they seem to recommend a Mity-Vac vacuum pump.

Hi Jimc, thank you, I see it (thanks to the workshop manuals ) let me try find a vacuum pump and test if maybe helps. My concern is the ABS that looks as is adding unnecessary trouble.

The motor shouldn't be running or the key on while bleeding brakes. There's a hump in the rear brake line that can cause problems. One member posted about removing the caliper, installing a spacer and bleeding it above the hump.

I have seen videos on youtube when the guy repairing car brakes hasn´t had the possibility to use a "scanner" for activating the abs pump, and would drive on a gravel road and stab the brakes to activate the abs. This might force the air out of the pump. I guess the brakes were "semi-bled" before this.

This might work with the rear wheel, on a scooter...
