Hi all

I have noticed that the headlights on my keyless GTS 300 can sometimes stay on for a long time. Today after turning off the bike and walking away they stayed on for more than 5 minutes. Does anybody know how long the lights are supposed to stay on for ?

It's done about 2000kms and had its 1k service.

It's not supposed to stay on. It's probably the headlight relay staying engaged. Warranty time…

I will take it into the shop tomorrow. I checked the app is up to date. Follow me was on.

raettig & Binettasteve claims to have fixed it in his thread (overnight our time so you may not have read it)

Yea I have turned off follow me too. Was going to call the shop this morning.

Ensure the dealers report it to Piaggio!

What happens when your app runs your battery flat? Piaggio liable?

I would have thought so - but that might be jurisdiction specific.

honestly i just did what you suggested, SteelBytes - you were right on the money.

I didn't ride today but called the dealer. They haven't heard of any others with this issue in their dealership but asked me to monitor.

Here's how I fixed on my 23' GTS. It has 325km, brand new. Everything was fine until I paired my phone to it, then the head light stayed on after turning wheel to lock position. It would flicker then stay on.

I noticed that my phone connected to the Vespa twice through Bluetooth. One of the two connections stayed on after I shut off the bike, the other disconnected.

As soon as I unpaired the one that was still connected the light shut off on its own. Been checking it for the last 30 minutes and the light has stayed off.

Maybe it's a sign that I should pair my phone to my bike.

I looked at mine and I have 2 Bluetooth connections too. One has the device type option (headphones etc) and the other just has the option for allowing system notifications.


I have a Cardo Bluetooth headset and it is the same.

Mine just did the same exact thing this week. As others have said log off the app and the headlight will go off.

I have the same problem for 3-4 days.

If anyone can solve this situation using the application, please write.

I live in Istanbul and the authorized service here does not know the subject.

Turn off follow me and if that doesn't work disable the app on your phone. It's the app causing the issue.

Thank you, I will try immediately, now I disconnected the bluetooth connection and deleted the application, I will reinstall it and follow these steps you said, I will report the result

There is a new update for the iOS Vespa app. The only change note is:

Critical fix for "auto follow me".

I was looking for any updates on the web. Clearly by now most owners have realised its the App. On a recent Reddit thread ( apart from posters bickering) the consensus to solve the problem was " delete the App"

Its a pity they didnt read this thread and follow your advice to take a more measured approach eg turn follow me off. 🤣🤣🤣

The problem was solved with the new update released last night.
