What are the stock rollers for my 2023 vespa primavera 125 ZAPMD1100. There are so many variations, brand, weight etc. I just want to know what the stock rollers are. Thanks in advance!

You can get the part number from your Vespa dealer.

we only have one dealership here and it's three hours away. I'm having a problem with my vespa, when I take off from low speeds the transmission sometimes shudders or the scooter jerks forwards but then drives fine. It's crazy expensive to get the scooter transported back to the dealership so I brought it to a local motorcycle mechanic. He said that he'd open up the transmission, clean it up and check if the rollers have any flat spots. He told me to order a set of rollers so that if they need to be changed he can do it right away and my scooter won't be sitting there for days while he waits for them to come in. I didn't want to ask the dealership because I didn't want them to know in case I have any big problem with the scooter later and they void the warranty because I had work done by somebody else.

How many KM are on the scooter? What you're describing is not flat spot rollers behaviour, but bad clutch behaviour. If you put the scooter on the centerstand, start it up and let it idle, once the engine is warmed up, is it easy to stop the rear wheel from spinning with your hand?

The rear wheel usually spins very slowly while it's idling on the center stand, I haven't tried to stop it but with it being so slow I'd imagine that it would be easy to stop. Every now and then when I start the scooter I do notice that the wheel spins much faster but this doesn't happen often at all. Only 3000km on the scooter. It's only a few months old and I know I should realistically be sending it back to the dealership but transport would cost €700 there and back.

Usually the culprit is dust in the clutch which can be cleaned out with a good 80 kph ride. But your scoot has only done 3000kms.

Do you baby it away from a stop? Maybe the clutch has become glazed. Do a few aggressive pull aways at maximum throttle and see it that clears it up.

I believe your weights are 16g, 20x15 https://modernvespa.com/forum/wiki-standard-roller-weights

I thought the 50cc rollers were normally 19 x 15.5mm - what weight is standard I don't know. <<< Totally irrelevant, sorry.

I had very similar symptoms and it was a warped clutch drum. I replaced it and zoom zoom.

Perfect, thank you! I can see my vin in the list of compatible models. So do I just order six of these same rollers?

No.

Get lighter rollers ~12g, usually increases pickup a bit.

I want to stick with the stock rollers because I don't want the dealership to know I had work done my another mechanic in case I ever need to use the warranty. I'm also fine with it's current performance (other than the transmission shudder) my vespa only gets used around town, I've never felt like it needed more speed/power.

The motorcycle mechanic I brought it to also said that it's very likely some dust/dirt in the transmission or a glazed clutch bell, he said just to have the rollers to hand in case the current ones have any flat spots. He said it's unlikely but not impossible and if I don't use the new ones now then I always have them for when they do need to be changed, plus, they're cheap.

I wouldn't necessarily say that I baby it but I do live and work in a European city with narrow roads that were designed in the middle ages. I don't usually have the opportunity to drive off at maximum throttle, lots of slow moving, stop and go traffic.

Dimensions are right, but I think they are in the 13-13.5 range for the 125.
It's so hard to get used to Yamaha and Piaggio switching over to Kymco transmission elements and using the same weight size as Honda. It will make it easier to keep parts in stock though.

You can get the part number from your Vespa dealer.

I went conservative as there is a little confusion with the 125. Some sites say 19mm and some say 16. So 16 will still be OK if the stock are 19g using the 85% "rule" and perfect if the stock ones are 16g.
