Correct rpm?

Hi guys

Can someone tell me what rpm level supposed to be good on stop light (I drive with piaggio mp3 300 hpe) I checked today and there was between 1500 and 2000 around 1700 is that correct? I also drive with kawasaki z1000 and in my motorcycle is always 1200 rpm on stop light on neutralny gear. Pls let me know if in my piaggio mp3 300 is not so high? Sorry for amateur question but I am not mechanic...

For me sounds correct. In my 250 the workshop manual says between 1600 and 1800 rpm, and for the 500 says 1600 +/- 100 rpm, and in general both are in this range.

my Vespa has the same 300 HPE. it's correct idle is 1700. when starting the bike at the start of the day it can start nearer to 2000 and then drift down to 1700 over 30-60sec. if I start it when it's warm then it will go to 1700 quicker.

As stated the correct idle speed is 1700 +/-100
