Was about to purchase a 2012 Vespa 150. Test drive went great (was a bit low on oil). After stopping the scoot I wanted to see about restarting- nothing happened. The owner had the service key on the same ring as the blue operating key. Tried to start with the service key and got the 2 flash, no start. It sounded like the battery was left over winter, so she hooked it up to charge and called her shop. They charged her $420 to replace and reprogram the key and said that also wore down the battery. Is this scenario possible?! Can you deprogram the ignition with the service key? Or is she being taken advantage of?
