Hi, now that I have retrieved the key from the locked saddle storage, it's time for some Spring restoration. Does anyone have experience restoring the glove box and handlebar color which appears to be faded by UV and/or age? (like me!) ... is the original color in there somewhere, or was it only ever near the surface? Thanks! Farmer John

I've had the same problem with fading, and seen it on others' scoots. The topic has been discussed on the forum, and IIRC, no one had come up with a reasonable solution. I'm guess that yes, the "color is in there" but you can't reasonably sand away the plastic to get to it.

I came up with a reasonable solution: paint. Paint them flat black. It looks a heck of a lot better than faded Salmon...

There are products out there that can bring it back to almost the original look. Some people remove the parts and hit them with a heat gun. I tried it a few times, but would not recommend it as the results are a bit spotty.
