the malossi/polini variators have ramps that are angled differently to give a more proportion throttle response. IE ramps are more gradual. the rollers they come with are a good bit lighter than stock. so you would want to choose dp weights based off the weights of aftermarket rollers .

example bv350
stock v 16g rollers.
stock v 13g sliders.
malossi v 10g rollers.
malossi v 9g sliders.

nope
malossi and Poline only using lighter weights, the grade of the angle are all most the same as stock
the material is thinner so the vario is lighter then stock

Works the same as a 1/4 mile car with a lighter flywheel
with a heavier Clutchplate

and then you have a car thats set up for sprint races not for normal road use
