Did you say that a Smallie handles like an Allstate on 8's? I had an Allstate and the front brake dive was scary even after I put in a new bitubo spring. But it was alot of fun!
Actually meant to say feels a lot like my smallie particularly in comparison to the P I had.
The Allstate has a VBB front swingarm, Stoffi spring, SIP performance front and rear shocks, tapered roller steering bearings, Clauss studios swingarm and rear shock bushings Pinasco drums with SIP shoes
The front end improvements virtually eliminated the "Allstate pogo stick issues. Has K38 tires run at 22psi front and 28psi rear.
I never rode it it stock form. Bought it as a winter project and immediately took it apart.
I'm 79 and don't try and find the limits any more but at 45/50 MPH it's a nice ride.
Just redid the smallie this winter. Changed to later style alloy drums with open 5 wheels and Carbone sport shocks. It handles sharper than the Allstate and is more fun to ride around town.

This is a better comparison, for sure.

Having ridden an OG pogo stick Allstate back at WKRP, that's a very different experience.

I have pretty comprehensive suspension upgrades on the Boobadge and it's really stable up through 70-75 MPH. Honestly, it feels better than a largeframe in that speed range.

Past that, the crap aerodynamics of the whole thing start to really kick in, but that's pretty much all vintage Vespas from what I've experienced.

Just went for a nice cruise around the twisty roads yesterday. The Smallstate is so much fun to ride. The 125 feels as strong as a 150 in a large frame.
What I really love about this bike is that , even though I am all of 5'9" and 135 lbs, I can just see the top of the headlight in the bottom of my visor and otherwise, pretty much unaware of the rest of the bike. Like I am just floating along down the road.

Thats right I meant Stoffi Spring! well all that sounds fantastic and exactly the king of trouble I am looking to start. Now to find an engine!
