Modern Vespa

The bike suspension makes for a very hard ride over bumps feeling as if there's no suspension at all. I'm 180 lbs. riding alone and the rear shocks are set at option 1 for single rider. Tires are inflated to specs.
Any solution(s) for a less jarring ride?

2008 scoot maybe shocks are over their sell by date

How much mileage should I expect on them?
I'm at 40,000 km. with easy riding.

In all honesty does not matter about mileage, anything mechanical can break or fail at any moment, imagine that they hit a few deep potholes, or roads are bad, many possibilities in that question. try setting them for 2 up and see if it changes anything, if stays the same means shocks are toast.
