Doable? I prefer the early flush frameless look.

Did this to my blue 2015 GTS when I blacked out all the chrome. Needed a little filing on the bottom corners, and it left a 2 mm gap along the bottom.

A little filing on the bottom corners of light? And you used early light assy?

As I recall, it was just a little bit filed off the inside of the corners to get a flush fit. I think it was a 2014 taillight. Could have mounted the numberplate 1/2 inch higher to hide the gap underneath, but it doesn't show unless you look hard for it.

I'm gonna give it a try, looks so much better without the frame. I think early light and painted fender may be bolt on. Will report back with results.

Can confirm, early light and rear fender are bolt on, sheet metal is the same. $150 for light and factory painted fender. Rear fender is same part number 2007 to 2014 all models GTS so a good chance your paint code is available.

Of course this means the reverse is also doable, possible to update the look of your older scoot with later style light and frame. 2 holes need to be drilled as frame bolts to the body but new fender not required, only slight trimming of existing fender necessary and would be hidden by the frame.
