I just can't figure out why he made it so weird looking.
The Rivian, F-150 Lightning, and Hummer are all electric trucks that look like, well, trucks. The Ford can even be fixed by a regular body shop should it get dented, and can reverse power your home with the right gear. Tesla makes normal-ish looking cars, but they beat the poor Cybertruck with an ugly stick. |

Windshield and electrical components removed. Ready for cutting. Tape line is where the top gets chopped. Windshield and side windows will be trimmed to match.

I've had many laughs from this thread already! Hope my friend is getting paid well.

From, Being John "Elon" Malkovich,
If I were building stuff on earth, I would put the RnD and build like it was going to Mars. He already took so many of my ideas off twitmo it's ridiculous. He hated my suggestion of an ant farm as a pre-requisite, to sending humons to marz. His little dome project didn't work, so.. His track record for safety in his operations are terrible. What I'm most intrigued by is nasa firing up their plans with European Space Agency for Jupiter. We have the technology to see into atmospheres, into the bottom of the oceans from space. Jupiter is likely to have life right now. I think they know this. Like all my relativity rants, finding life on such a toxic planet as Jupiter could be detrimental to our soft cozy existence, meaning life that spawned there is exponentially more hostile by its very nature than all of our pissy infighting. Mars may have underground water where life still exists. But the governments are going to.. I think they have better intel. |

I got to ride in my nephew's CyberTruck over the Thanksgiving break.
While I still think the design is horrible, I have to admit that it is very nice inside, it rides great, and the Self Driving technology is pretty damn good. It did bother me that everything was touch-sensitive buttons. There are no door handles, either on the outside or inside. You have to push a button to open the door. And all the controls are on the large LCD touchscreen, so you have to know how to navigate to it. My nephew was telling me that he'll get OTA updates to it and things will move, but it will have a notification that the control has moved, and will ask if he wants to move it back. Based on the features, I wouldn't mind having a Tesla, just not a CyberTruck. |

I'm still not over the doofus trying to turn around in a driveway in front of me on my way to work this summer. I'll excuse him if he was getting a test drive (doubt we have a dealer here tho...). Took forever while my scooter idled, eventually positioned himself in the oncoming lane and waited, I guess for me to proceed, but it was anything but smooth. I did have time to admire it close up, however. The other night I was entering a parking lot with a cybertruck leaving, got to see the front LED strip lit up. After my "WTF is that?" moment, I was left fully uninspired. I have seen innovation that made me a bit envious, this wasn't it.

If you were an early purchaser of the Cybertruck, there's some not so good news out late last year. Tesla dropped the price low enough that they qualify for the tax credit, so someone can pay about $73K for the same truck that people preordered for more than $100K.

They are legal in Chechnya, and come with a rather unique system to discourage drivers from holding up traffic.
