I just converted my 100 to all-AC, with 12-volt electronic ignition. Am about to install handlebar turn signals with incandescent bulbs (not LED).

What kind of flasher unit do I need? Just a very basic 2-prong, 12-volt flasher from my local auto parts store?? Or is there a different/better option?

Thanks!

Thanks. Alas, I'm a noob and I understand a 2-prong flasher, but I don't know how to wire a 3-prong flasher/relay for my situation.

I have the round 3-position switch (left signal, off, right signal) on the clutch side of the headset. So for a 2-prong, I would just wire it in-line to the power coming into the switch.

But for a 3-prong power/relay, what? I'm running it thru my head and haven't solved it, but . . . that's probably me. ???

- C (green dot) = AC input
- L1 (white dot) = switched current output - front turn signal bulbs
- L2 (red dot) = switched current output - rear turn signal bulbs

The current is alternately clocked to L1 and L2. This achieves the alternating clocking of the front and rear turn signals. The purpose behind this is to reduce the on-board load to a minimum so that the turn signals still cycle properly even when idling (with little voltage from the alternator).

Here are the specs for this flasher.

Aha! Now I get it! For my purposes, just connect it inline and ignore one of the outputs.

Thanks.

This. If you are only adding a front set of blinker lights, disregard L2.

I have to include the 3-way switch in the circuit. So I'm thinking:

AC power to "C" on the flasher

L1 out from the flasher to the indicator switch

One wire from to switch to the left indicator, one to the right

When the switch clicks on either left or right, that completes that circuit (because the indicators are grounded to the headset) and the flasher goes to work.

I feel wildly confident about that. Should I? Tell me the truth. I can take it. I think.
